St. Regis Hotel & Residential Towers – Al Qassar Resort

St. Regis® hotel in Doha, Qatar, the first step in Starwood’s ambitious plans to expand the ultraluxury brand’s presence in the Gulf region. St. Regis Doha is a spectacular addition to the luxury hotel market in the thriving, cosmopolitan city of Doha, located on the renowned Persian Gulf coast.

The St. Regis brand seeks to bring the most luxurious properties to the most exclusive locations in the world. Following in the tradition of the legendary St. Regis Hotel, New York, The St. Regis Hotel & Residences Business Bay artfully combines sophistication with modern refinement and offer a classy, seductive ambiance, enhanced by meticulous design touches, exquisite cuisine and the iconic St. Regis Butler service.

The project calls for new luxury 346-room St. Regis hotel in Doha, a Twin Tower residential complex and a residential Circular Tower. The hotel comprises of two reflecting towers and 18 bungalows.

The two reflecting towers, each consisting of 14 floors, offers 328 oceanfront guest rooms including 246 rooms and 82 suites. The development includes 4,000 square meters of meeting and conference space, business center, shops, parking area, 4 restaurants, outdoor restaurant, bars, and for the ultimate in relaxation and recreation, a 1,200 square meters Spa is in plan, offering 8 to 10 treatment rooms in addition to a lavish fitness center spreading across 1,200 square meters of stateof-the-art equipment.

The circular tower consists of 2-story entrance and mezzanine floors with 20 apartment floors of an approximate area of 29,000 sqm for Apartments plus 15,000 sqm for basement car parking. Total number of apartments is 125 with a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments. A dedicated external swimming pool is also included in the size of 40m diameter. The prestigious project, under the Main Contractor CDC, MEP package was divided into two packages to two MEP Contractors, IDC and GET.

U-TAB was involved in the early stages of the project to review the technical documents and submit the design revision reports and method statements, the systems readiness check reports and the works status reports as part of the project commissioning team(s).

The Circular Tower contract was awarded through the MEP Contractor, GET, in October 2009 and the works were handed over in July 2012. The Hotel and Twin Towers complex contract was awarded through IDC, the MEP Contractor, in September 2010 and had all the works handed over in September 2012.
