Pursuit of high standards of Health, Safety and consideration of the Environment is an integral part of efficient management in all industries. Site safety and operational efficiency are fundamental to the efficiency and profitability of the Company. Legislation relating to Health, Safety and the Environment will be treated as the minimum standard to be applied to all work undertaken by the Company, its employees and contractual staff. UTAB will ensure that every employee aims to achieve the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environmental consideration that are reasonably attainable in the circumstances. All practical advantages will be sought from joint consultation on Health, Safety and the Environment. Suitable training, instruction and information on Health, Safety and the Environment will be given to all employees.
All employees have a duty to the company and themselves to take all reasonable and practicable steps to ensure that they or other persons are not put at risk due to actions that they carry out on behalf of the company. Any employee failing to comply with the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policy may be summarily dismissed. Employees are encouraged to actively participate in improving the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental standards by submitting suggestions for improvement.
Health & Safety Policy Statement
The Health, Safety and Welfare of employees is of prime importance to the Company and is essential to
the efficient operation of its undertaking.
The responsibility for Health, Safety and Welfare at work rests upon the Management . The Company will
ensure that this policy is pursued through the organization. The Company will take all reasonable
precautions to ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare at work of its employees by providing:-
- A safe working environment by the design, construction, operation and maintenance of all plant, equipment and facilities.
- Adequate instruction, training and supervision.
- Control of all situations likely to cause damage to the property and equipment.
- Consultation between management and employees / employee representatives with regard to Health, Safety and Welfare.
The Company expects employees to conform to this policy and to comply with local, international and sites legislation of Health and Safety at Work.
The Company expects employees to exercise all reasonable care for their own Health, Safety and
Welfare and all others who may be affected by either their acts or omissions.
If relevant, the Company expects all employees to co-operate with the Principal Contractor on site so that a safe working environment is maintained.
The Company will give full backing to this Policy and to the Managers, whose function it shall be to monitor and operate the Policy.
